Becel Crop-Up

CLIENT: Edelman Canada x BECEL

DATE: FEBRUARY 2018

ABOUT: Eventsing was engaged in the preliminary stages to work alongside Edelman Canada to find a high traffic suitable venue and a winter-friendly solution to house Becel's invite only.  After countless venue inspections and contract negotiations we managed to secure Front & Simcoe with close proximity to Union Station.  Additionally after vetting many different structural solutions we determined that creating a greenhouse was the best brand solution for maximum consumer and media impact.  The goal was to create something unique and memorable in the form of a pop-up restaurant that served only plant based food. There is no better way to get people’s attention than when a typically rural structure is built within the epicentre of a major city’s downtown core.

The “Crop-Up” restaurant PLNT was hosted by Jillian Harris from HGTV’s Love It Or List It and Chef/Author Matt Dean Pettit.

SCOPE: Venue scouting and contract, city permissions, structural engineering, site management, greenhouse design and assembly, supplier management, site renderings, power and power distribution, cartage, warehousing.

Molson Canadian #ANYTHINGFORHOCKEY

CLIENT: Molson Canadian

DATE: August 2015 - February 2016

SCOPE: Molson Canadian #Anythingforhockey is by far the grandest of events we have ever had the pleasure to work on and we can confidently say that it was an international success garnering attention and accolades from around the globe.

Here's some insight into our journey; in August 2015 we were contacted by Molson Canadian and Rethink to determine if we had the capacity and capabilities to find a home for the Molson Canadian Rooftop Rink and after a weeks worth of review we agreed that we would in fact be the best company to navigate this unique project -  albeit we had never worked in the Hockey space before. But, what we did well and have done well in the past is capture and communicate an idea or event to stakeholders, dignitaries and policy makers while conveying a level of confidence and experience necessary to build the foundation of trust required to advance with ideas of this magnitude.

"Find a home for the Rooftop Rink ideally in the core of a major city at least 25 storeys up with impressive sight lines both in and out with the ability to provide access to the general public." Fast forward 45 days and we had secured the pinnacle of venues in the heart of the financial district at 120 Adelaide St. West,Toronto, ON. (Thank you Eric & Oxford Group) Along the way we began to engage with the numerous amount of suppliers required to fulfill such a project and to better understand the handling, size, weight and electrical needs of the assets that would be needed to produce and maintain a rink on a roof.  Even though we had found a building to host the rooftop rink we had yet to confirm the feasibility of putting a rink on a roof based on the load, power requirements and numerous other hurdles those that were close to the event now know inherently.  Insert Jeff, our project structural engineer who calculated the loads and the necessary displacements in order to safely make this idea a reality. Jeff is absolute aces and we look forward to working with him in the coming years. Thank-you Jeff!

Now that we have vacated the roof, SAFELY we  can confidently say the project was both safe and successful! Molson Canadian had the pleasure of hosting every major media outlet from across Canada, shoot a TV commercial and host their key partners, winners and staff over the duration of 30 days.

We are so very thankful and honoured to have supported Molson Canadian on this project.

Big Music Festival

CLIENT: Mark Higgins | Owner

DATE: July 2014

SCOPE: Site Management

In Kitchener, Ontario they have an amazing public park complete with playgrounds, dog parks, bike trails, skateparks and a tobogganing hill. Mclennan Park became the epicentre of Rock-N-Roll on July 11-13, 2014 and played host to more than 55,000 people over the course of 3 days.

To host a concert of this magnitude requires a lot of space, not only for the show but for the million moving pieces that goes into building it. A Premier Global Stage, 11 starline artist trailers and a dozen plus tour buses, add in a few hundred washrooms,  seventeen carnival rides, a few dozen vendors and enough portable power to turn the lights on across Canada all require planning, contracting and continual management. With all these different moving pieces, you need to have someone to overlook this aspect - inject EVENTSING into the mix.

The ability to wrangle multiple suppliers together and work together as a well oiled machine is something we are especially good at, and with an event of this size comes a larger than normal number of suppliers on a unique site that had yet to prove the feasibility to host a concert of this magnitude. Whether its dealing with fencing, engineers or geotechnical engineers, this event had many obstacles that needed to be navigated...and navigated in less than 30 days!

With all of Kitchener Waterloo in attendance, you'd expect there to be some seriously talented acts on display; Aerosmith, Janes Addiction, Styx, Slash...are just some of the performers that people lined up for hours to see - and they didn't disappoint!

Coors Light Mountain Survival

CLIENT: COORS LIGHT

DATE: 2012 / 2013

SCOPE: EVENT MANAGEMENT

Summer left just as quickly as it came and before we knew it September was here and we were in Sun Peaks, British Columbia for the Coors Light Mountain Survival. Before we arrived, eventSing was tasked with the creation, design and production of the Mountain Survival obstacle course as a whole. Not only did the course have to be challenging but most of all it had to be fun. Using this as our base we came up with 8 unique obstacles that were specifically designed for this event to represent Coors Light and the Mountain Survival atmosphere.

The weather proved to play right into the Mountain Survival theme with cool temps and periods of rain/snow mix throughout the week. With a light fog and mist present on the day of of the race, combined with the mountain backdrop of Sun Peaks Resort it made for the perfect atmosphere in which to host the Coors Light Mountain Survival. Winning guests had to navigate through obstacles that included running through a wooded area with glasses on while tied to their two other team mates, hoisting kegs, climbing up slippery tarp covered hills, navigating ski gates while blindfolded, drinking games, keg toss, climbing through a foam pit while holding a keg, and a slip-n-slide. Needless to say, it was definitely difficult but everyone had a massive smile on their face as they crossed the finish line. Hearing guests talk at the after party about how much they loved the course showed us that we hit a home run with the design and execution of the obstacles.

After the guests had survived the course and the overall winners were crowned, it was time for the after party. Held at the base of the mountain in a massive tent complete with a raised dance floor that lit up to display graphics to go along with DJ Quake and Urban Metropolis having everyone dancing up a storm on late into the night. Complete with the beautiful Coors Light Mountain Survival Rescue Team girls on hand to get the guests rowdy, it sure made for an incredible way to cap off a tough day of course and obstacle navigating.

The Coors Light Mountain Survival is one of those events where it is almost more successful with variable weather conditions. Cloudy and 0 degrees with a rain/snow mix suits an event with a theme such as this perfectly. We loved the challenge of creating, designing and producing all of the course and obstacles from the ground up and seeing how much the guests loved running the course was the ultimate payoff. Coors Banquet Canada

CLIENT: Molson Coors Canada

DATE:  2013 - 2016 Canada

SCOPE: We were involved with the launch of Coors Banquet, also known as Coors Original, in Canada at the end of 2012.  Originally asked to put the corporate card of EVENTSING down and acquire nine vintage trucks for 5 regions across Canada as quickly as humanly possible and to hire the cool yet responsible brand ambassadors in each market to sample, seed and build awareness of the banquet beer from the ground up. Yup you got it, no problem!

The program was easily one of the funnest we've had the privilege to work on; sourcing and purchasing vintage trucks, pulling off their old tires to outfit them with a back to stock authentic look and transforming the sometimes ugly original orange, green or maroon paint to the iconic gold.  The Coors Banquet cult following and consumption is strong in Canada and we'd like to take a fraction of a fraction of responsibility for simply putting the beer in the right people's hands which just so happened to be our influential friends...

Mountain Dew and the Dew Tour Am Seriescouldn’t have chosen a better place to host the inaugural Dew Tour Am Series. The village and hospitality was world class and there were smiles on seemingly everyone’s faces all week. Considering we at EVENTSING come from Ontario where lift lines are of an abundance, we couldn’t believe it when we saw people riding directly onto the lift with no lines. Not to mention a fun pow day with the whole team the day before the whirlwind of setup started put was a great way to start the week.

The Dew Tour Am Series was created as a building block and stepping stone to help up-and-coming amateur snowboarders and skiers gain experience and results to one day compete in the full fledged Dew Tour south of the border. With more and more athletes travelling to compete in contests, it makes it easier to have a more ecletic and diverse group of competitors, which we had the privilege of experiencing at Sun Peaks. There were athletes from Ontario, Colorado, Alberta, British Columbia, California and Quebec.

The weather throughout the whole event was unexpected to say the least. We had everything from slushy, spring like weather to pow in the same day. In any case, the weather held out just enough for us to be able to have an amazing event.
