Coors Light Mountain Survival
CLIENT: COORS LIGHT
DATE: 2012 / 2013
SCOPE: EVENT MANAGEMENT
Summer left just as quickly as it came and before we knew it September was here and we were in Sun Peaks, British Columbia for the Coors Light Mountain Survival. Before we arrived, eventSing was tasked with the creation, design and production of the Mountain Survival obstacle course as a whole. Not only did the course have to be challenging but most of all it had to be fun. Using this as our base we came up with 8 unique obstacles that were specifically designed for this event to represent Coors Light and the Mountain Survival atmosphere.
The weather proved to play right into the Mountain Survival theme with cool temps and periods of rain/snow mix throughout the week. With a light fog and mist present on the day of of the race, combined with the mountain backdrop of Sun Peaks Resort it made for the perfect atmosphere in which to host the Coors Light Mountain Survival. Winning guests had to navigate through obstacles that included running through a wooded area with glasses on while tied to their two other team mates, hoisting kegs, climbing up slippery tarp covered hills, navigating ski gates while blindfolded, drinking games, keg toss, climbing through a foam pit while holding a keg, and a slip-n-slide. Needless to say, it was definitely difficult but everyone had a massive smile on their face as they crossed the finish line. Hearing guests talk at the after party about how much they loved the course showed us that we hit a home run with the design and execution of the obstacles.
After the guests had survived the course and the overall winners were crowned, it was time for the after party. Held at the base of the mountain in a massive tent complete with a raised dance floor that lit up to display graphics to go along with DJ Quake and Urban Metropolis having everyone dancing up a storm on late into the night. Complete with the beautiful Coors Light Mountain Survival Rescue Team girls on hand to get the guests rowdy, it sure made for an incredible way to cap off a tough day of course and obstacle navigating.
The Coors Light Mountain Survival is one of those events where it is almost more successful with variable weather conditions. Cloudy and 0 degrees with a rain/snow mix suits an event with a theme such as this perfectly. We loved the challenge of creating, designing and producing all of the course and obstacles from the ground up and seeing how much the guests loved running the course was the ultimate payoff.
